...dreams...

My adventure today: taxes! Ugh! Not my idea of an adventure at all, but it needed to get done.

This is the first year that Andy and I have decided to do our taxes ourselves. It's actually been going rather well as Andy has undertaken the brunt of the work. But his hard work came to a halt when he needed the numbers for my Mary Kay business. So I buckled down today and finished my part. It was not only an adventure in doing taxes, but a lesson in loving my husband well.

I've been in love with Mary Kay products since my early twenties. Still, I could barely believe it myself when I became a consultant. It was an intimidating investment that I entered into very cautiously. And I'm glad I did! Through it, I've learned a lot about who I am, who I want to be, and what it takes to be successful.

I think what I love most about Mary Kay is Mary Kay Ash herself. By all accounts, she was kind, committed, caring, determined, unrelenting and full of grace. She chose to dream big, and she doggedly chased down her dreams. I've been trying to dream bigger, bolder dreams for myself, but I haven't been very successful. I'm not sure I remember what a big dream looks like. More often than not, I tend to be very unclear as to what I really want.

But then I read something that Mary Kay has written or said, and I'm inspired all over again. She believed in the potential of others so much, that they began to believe in themselves, too.

Do you have dreams? I want to know about them. Don't keep them to yourself. That's where dreams go to die. They're not safe there. Tell someone. Tell me. I want to be in your corner, cheering you toward your goal.

Be bold. Be brave. Ra ra sis boom ba go....YOU!

I've looked at so many cinnamon roll recipes on pinterest and food blogs. I'll pick one soon and work on them this weekend.
